Summarized Report of International Symposium on Ethnicity & Federalization is a synthesized briefs of papers presented by 12 international and 13 national experts during a 4-day symposium on Ethnicity and Federalization held on April, 2011. This report comprises of papers, discussion during the symposium and conclusion.

 

Preliminary Report of National Census Observation 2011. Nepal is carrying its 11th national Population and Housing Census (PHC) and this is the first time in Nepal's census history that MINEs (minorities, indigenous nationalities and other excluded groups) are observing the National Census. This Observation Report is based on the experiences of the observers deputed in each of the 80 census districts during the Census Enumeration conducted between 17-27 June, 2011 in Nepal.

 

Census Observation Guideline consists of tools and methodologies including other relevant information about observing the Housing and Population Census 2011 from minorities, indigenous and other excluded groups (MINEs) perspective.

 

State Restructuring & Minority Groups is a training manual in Nepali prepared to improve skills and knowledge of minority activists on minority rights, inclusion of minority rights provisions in the course of state restructuring and advocacy for minority rights protection in transition to federalism.

 

Constitution for Rights is a video documentary based on discriminated, excluded and exploited Nepal’s national minorities’: Dalits, women, Madheshi, linguistic and religious groups, peaceful endeavor to ensure the inclusion of their rights in new Nepali Constitution.

 

 

 

 

 

Issue of Minorities in New Nepali Constitution is a collection of common issues of minority groups; women, Dalits, Madheshi, religious and linguistic minorities from 19 Terai district to be incorporated in New Nepali Constitution.

 

It also consists of feedback on the preliminary draft of Minority & Marginalized Rights Protection Committee of the Constituent Assembly in Nepal.

 

 

Nepalese Minority Groups; Struggle for Identity & Representation is an attempt to going deep and exploring the status of minorities, the challenges they’ve been facing and suggesting appropriate recommendations.

 

The analytical paper reflects the dynamics of exclusion and marginalization of minority groups in Nepal.

 

 

 

 

Minority Rights and Advocacy Skills is a training manual that is aimed at equipping minority rights activists with necessary information on definitions, political participation, constitutional provisions to promote minority rights, alliance building and advocacy skills.

 

 

 

 

 

Mainstreaming Gender Equality & Social Inclusion in Development Project is a strategy paper focused at ‘know how’, ‘do how’ and ‘show how’ of mainstreaming Gender Equality and Social Inclusion approaches at the program and organizational level.

Minority Voice is a quarterly newsletter of SUPPORT Nepal that highlights constitutional making process and its relevance with minority population. It also contains information about minority related instruments and issues and other important events taken place during the quarter.

 

 

 

 

 

Child-friendly Teaching in Post-conflict Setting is a training resource book aimed at capacitating the school teachers and management committee members of the rural schools in the conflict affected areas.

It includes range of methods and approaches ranging from class room management to peer learning for transforming school from a traditional settings into a open and inclusive learning environment.

 

 

Gender Based Violence Assessment in Dhanusha is an assessment report attempted to identify and assess the situation of gender based violence and recommend appropriate and culture sensitive strategies to mitigate the violence.

 

The report provides a glimpse of the GBV in Terai communities and also sketches very critical dimension of discrimination existed in rural areas of Terai distirct; Dhanusha.

 

Hamaro Sunu is a collection of radio soap aimed at raising awareness of the rural population and taking participation in peace process and constituent assembly focused activities in Nepal.

 

It has got 16 episodes ranging from human rights provision in the Interim Constitution to issues of social inclusion.

 

 

 

 

The Women of Terai in Peace Process; Action Plan is an action plan to identify, facilitate and promote the role of east and mid Terai districts's women in peace process. 

 

The action plan has identified four key areas of focus; women in development, women in media, women and human rights and women and administration/security. The action plan has prepared under the framework of UN SCR 1325.

 

 

Resource Book on Women, Peace and Security is helpful for the trainers and the activists providing training and advocating the women issues in Nepal. It consists of information and resource materials about national and international conventions, treaties, policies and practices such as the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, Beijing Declaration, CEDAW, transitional justice, post war reconstruction, and constituent assembly.

Strategy Plan of Dhanusha on Peace and Reconstruction (2065-2067 BS) is prepared to guide the peace and reconstruction work in Dhanusha district with focus on conflict victims and Local Peace Committee (LPC).

 

 

 

 

 

 

Local Labor Market Assessment (LLMA) is an assessment of local conditions and economic opportunities of conflict in Dhanusha district that could assist the concerned agencies further establishing economic reintegration, offering training, creating employment opportunities and sustaining a secure environment in which entrepreneurship can flourish.

 

 

 

 

Issues of Madhesh is a collection of voices of non-political Madhesi leaders of the seven southern Tarai district of Nepal; Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rauthat, Bara and Parsa.

 

It highlights the social, political, economic and cultural issues of Madhesh.

 

 

UN Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement address the specific needs of internally displaced persons worldwide. They identify rights and protection and assistance during displacement as well as during return or resettlement  and reintegration.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Convention on the Rights of the Child was the first instrument to incorporate the complete range of international human rights— including civil, cultural, economic, political and social rights as well as aspects of humanitarian law.

 

 

Training Manual on Human Rights Education at School manual contains descriptions of current methods and techniques used in human rights education and also looks at the special role of the teacher, who is an important element of civil society and holds a significant role in implementing and protecting human rights.
